Introducing the Ocean Star GMT Blue, a handsome new addition that displays two different time zones, namely home time and local time, clearly with an additional blue GMT hand. Beautiful inside and out, this timepiece flaunts a finely decorated Elaboré-grade automatic movement known as the Mido Caliber 80 (ETA C07.661 base), which has an impressive power reserve of 80 hours. This phenomenal movement crafted by Mido allows the crown of this watch to set the primary hour hand instead of the GMT hand with one-hour increments, usually seen in "purist" GMT watches and highly regarded by most watch enthusiasts. Furthermore, this movement is crafted with 25 jewels and operates at 21,600 BPH (3 Hertz). If you ever catch a glimpse into the heart of this dive watch, you would be amazed at the great amount of details put into the making of this movement, down to its oscillating weight decorated with Geneva stripes and Mido’s logo.
 
The Ocean Star GMT Blue measures 44mm, height of 13.28mm and has a lug to lug length of 50mm. Made from 316L stainless steel used exclusively by this Swiss brand, its case shows off a sleek brilliance. This case material not only resists corrosion, it also boasts excellent durability and is non-magnetic. This dive watch is protected with a flat sapphire crystal which has anti-reflective treatment on both sides that not only offers great legibility under any lighting conditions but also complements the timepiece’s elegant design. Strong and shock-resistant, this crystal will maintain its exceptional transparency for many years.

The dial of this timepiece is a classic matte black featuring applied indexes with silver metal trimmings. What characterises the Ocean Star GMT Blue is its two-tone rehaut on which a second time zone is indicated. The ingenious design of this black and blue flange places the daytime hours against a deep blue background and the nighttime hours against a black background, a seamless reflection of the colours of the sky.

316L stainless steel case shows off a sleek brilliance

To allow for enhanced readability of this watch’s dual time display, this Swiss watchmaker has differentiated its handset according to their functions. This diver flaunts diamond-cut silver hour and minute hands, a second hand with a blue varnished tip and a matching blue varnished 24-hour GMT hand which indicates the time in a second time zone by pointing to the hour-circle (24-hour format) on the two-tone flange of its dial. Filled with white Super-LumiNova that glows bluish-green in the dark, the handset and indexes of this timepiece allow for legible time displays in the dark. The oceanic tones of its dial are further complemented with a blue ceramic unidirectional rotating bezel which enables the tracking of elapsed time. Moreover, the fluting on this ceramic bezel makes it easier to operate and incredibly resistant to scratches as well as wear and tear.

This remarkable timepiece comes on a smart blue fabric strap with rolled edges which matches the GMT hand and ensures comfortable wear while withstanding the harshest conditions. This strap features flawless white stitching at its lugs and is fitted with a Mido signed tang buckle finished with a shiny full polish.
