Orient has unveiled their latest iteration of their Contemporary line, the OOrient Star Contemporary Semi Skeleton Turquoise Blue Ref. RE-AT0017L - Ltd Ed 850pcs. Introducing a dazzling gradient turquoise dial to the Contemporary line up, inspired by the morning – the start of a new day. This new addition is set to amaze. Being part of the Contemporary collection, this exquisite timepiece exhibits a modern aesthetic that delivers elegance and sophistication to suit any occasion.
Off the bat, a high level of detail is reflected in the tastefully finished case of the Orient Star Mechanical Contemporary Semi Skeleton. The stainless steel case receives a highly polished bevelled edge that extends from one end of the lug to another, adding a touch of depth and luxurious character to the case.

This high polish finish contrasts especially well with the satin brushed finish on the side of the case. Having a case diameter of 39.3mm, a thickness of 12mm and a lug to lug distance of 46.2mm, the watch has a versatile size that fits many wrist sizes. Moreover, the lugs curve downwards gently, allowing the watch to hug the wrist comfortably. The watch is water resistant up to 100m (10 bar), perfect for everyday use.
One of the most eye-catching elements of the Orient Star Contemporary Semi Skeleton is the alluring sunburst blue dial. Underneath the flat sapphire crystal, the exquisite vertical gradation from turquoise blue to green symbolises the sky and the sea whose colours are constantly changing from the moment the sun rises.

Furthermore, the rose gold colour used throughout – such as on the hands and Orient Star logo, the indices - symbolises the brightness of the morning sun. The skeletonized cut-out at the 9 o’clock position displays the beating heart of the movement, viewing the moving parts of the movement is simply a joy to watch. The dauphine hands are painted with luminous paint to add visibility in dark lighting conditions. The intricately finished applied indices adds another dimension to the dial, making it truly sophisticated and elegant.
Displaying through the see-through case back lies, the Orient in-house caliber F6R42 automatic movement is Orient’s premium line of movements, featuring a substantial power reserve of 50 hours. This 22 jewel movement has a 3 Hz beat rate of 21,600 beats per hour and has an accuracy tolerance of +25 to -15 seconds a day. The Caliber F6R42 also holds hand-winding and hacking capabilities. To top it off, the movement is finished with beautiful perlage circular graining and vertical stripes on the rotor.

The Orient Star Mechanical Contemporary Semi Skeleton comes on a 20mm stainless steel bracelet that has a combination of satin brushed finish and polished finish, complimenting the finishes on the case. The bracelet is fitted with solid end links to hold the watch securely on the wrist. Also, an additional blue calf leather strap that further enhances the gradation on the dial, allowing the wearer to change the strap according to preference.
