Orient Star as a brand bears testimony to an impressive pedigree of meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail since 1951 in Tokyo, Japan. Late last year, Orient Star unveiled its 1st edition of the Orient Star Diver 1964 (also called the Diver 1964 1st Edition), a limited edition of only 500 pieces according to the Olympia Calendar Diver from 2021. This year, Orient Star has launched a new Diver 1964 2nd Edition inspired by the Calendar Auto Orient, another of the brand's stunning designs released in 1964. Equipped with 200 meters of water resistance, a dual-curved sapphire crystal, the in-house F6N47 caliber, and 60s-inspired visual design styles, the Diver 1964 2nd Edition is a combination of sporting aspirations and elegant aesthetics.

Noteworthily, the new Diver 1964 2nd edition exhibits motifs taken from the original 1964 Calendar Auto Orient such as a screw case-back, a dual curved sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, and water resistance to 200 metres that adhere to the ISO 6425 benchmark for air diving watches. This watch showcases the in-house 46-F6 series caliber F6N47 automatic movement, which offers excellent accuracy and an outstanding power reserve exceeding 50 hours. This black version provides a dressy and classy countenance to this divers’ timepiece and is a nod in tribute to the Calendar Auto Orient with its mirror black finish on the dial and a coordinating glossy black bezel surface. As such, this watch is versatile and can be worn to formal occasions as well as for an underwater adventure.

Next, a high-quality stainless steel (SUS316L) case that has a  diameter of 41-mm makes this watch convenient for daily use. The case that retains the fundamental case architecture of the original watch is a combination  of brushed and polished elements across the central case, faceted lugs, and domed screw-down crown. Also consisting of the same SUS316L stainless steel material is the five-piece link metal strap that commands a striking and comfortable presence on the wrist.
