Based in the picturesque town of Hölstein in the canton of Basel-Landschaft, Oris has firmly established itself as a cornerstone in the world of Swiss luxury watches. Renowned for offering some of the best value in Swiss-made timepieces, Oris has remained a symbol of craftsmanship and integrity in the industry. Since its founding in 1904 by Paul Cattin and Georges Christian, the brand has stayed true to its independent roots, safeguarding its values and embracing the freedom to innovate, all while exploring new horizons in the art of watchmaking.
One of Oris most iconic models, the Oris Divers, made its debut in 1965—61 years after the company was founded. Its timeless design resonated with watch enthusiasts, and five decades later, it was revived as the beloved Divers Sixty-Five in a nod to its heritage. In 2015, Oris marked the 50th anniversary of their pioneering dive watch with a modern reissue that captured the essence of the original. Now, in celebration of the original's diamond jubilee, Oris has introduced the Oris Divers Sixty-Five 60th Anniversary Black Edition, a fitting tribute that seamlessly blends tradition with modern sophistication.

Oris 60th Anniversary Edition - Ref. 01 733 7772 4034-Set |
The Divers Sixty-Five 60th Anniversary Edition instantly evokes the spirit of its 1965 predecessor, yet has been thoughtfully reimagined in several key areas. Much like the 2015 reissue, the anniversary model boasts a 40mm diameter—larger than the original's 36mm size in 1965. With a lug-to-lug measurement of 46mm and a thickness of 12.8mm, the watch offers a more contemporary presence on the wrist. Crafted from stainless steel, the case features a masterful finish, combining satin brushing on the surface with polished sides for a striking contrast. The watch is securely protected by a sapphire crystal, domed on both sides, and treated with an anti-reflective coating on the inside to ensure clarity and reduce glare, proudly marking an evolution from its ancestor that used acrylic crystal back then.
Designed for both style and practicality, the Divers Sixty-Five 60th Anniversary Edition comes equipped with a bidirectional rotating bezel featuring an aluminum insert, marked with a 60-minute scale and a luminous pip at the 60-minute mark to ensure optimal legibility. The watch is further enhanced by a more solid Oris-engraved screw-down crown and a detailed, engraved caseback, granting a solid 100-meter water resistance for those who seek adventure in and out of the water.

Oris Caliber 733-1 |
Dimensions aside, the Divers Sixty-Five 60th Anniversary Edition revives a defining characteristic of the original—a set of bold, inverse-lumed numerals at 3, 6, 9, and 12, printed on a glossy black dial. These block-shaped luminous markers, featuring hollowed-out numerals, echo the distinctive style of the mid-1960s Oris Divers. To maintain vintage proportions, the indices have been slightly shortened and coated with beige Super-LumiNova, further enhancing the watch's retro appeal.
Enhancing the nostalgic appeal, a striking detail is the historical sans-serif Oris logo, proudly positioned at 12 o'clock, reinforcing the timepiece's rich heritage. The dial layout has also been meticulously refined—the "ANTI-SHOCK" inscription and jewel count now sit at 6 o'clock, creating a beautifully balanced composition. Completing the vintage aesthetic, the baton-shaped hands are coated with the same beige SuperLumiNova, ensuring both legibility and a seamless retro elegance.

Powering the Divers Sixty-Five 60th Anniversary Edition is the in-house Oris Caliber 733-1 automatic movement, based on the reliable Sellita SW200-1. Featuring 26 jewels, a 28,800 beat rate (4Hz), and a power reserve of 41 hours, this movement ensures precise timekeeping while staying true to Oris' commitment to dependable Swiss mechanics.
Paired with a stainless steel bracelet, the Divers Sixty-Five 60th Anniversary Edition exudes versatility and refinement. Expertly finished with satin brushing, the bracelet tapers elegantly from 19mm to 14mm, ensuring a comfortable fit on the wrist. Secured with a signed stainless steel clasp, it adds a sophisticated touch, making the watch effortlessly suitable for both formal occasions and casual settings.
