Aristo was founded in 1907 by Julius Epple in Pforzheim, jewelry and watch making city in black forrest, Germany. The company has been producing timepieces for the last three generations.

The Aristo Vintage Marine Grey 42 Leather - 3H215A - Sapphire is powered by a Swiss Made ETA automatic caliber, ETA2824-2, operating at 28,800 BPH (4 Hertzs) with hacking and hand winding capabilities. It has 25 jewels with a power reserve of 40 hours.
 
The Aristo Marine is clearly inspired by naval officer watches from the 60s. And that means it is designed with legibility with certain elegant in mind. The dial is kept simple and sticks to the basics - Arabic numerals for the hour markers and a set of cathedral handset instilling the epoch. All whilst protected by a scratch resistance sapphire crystal. What is different here from all the deck watches are the use of silver hue for the dial, accentuating a contemporary look. It's highly refreshing and fuss free dial. Let's just say, we LOVE it. And a good amount of SuperLuminova is used on the hands for good visiblity in the dark.

Sandblasted 316L stainless steel case

Now, to the case. As the name implies, the watch measures at a good size of 42mm, a lug-to-lug size of 49mm, a thickness of 10.5mm and a lug width of 20mm. The 316L stainless steel case is well finished by hand with a mix of different satin brushed on the top and sides of the case to give it a premium feel. To achieve this, the case is made up of three parts; the bezel, the mid case and the screw down case back. What's more, it even comes with a display back for us watch enthusiast to admire the ETA2824-2 at work. The size of the case coupled with the short lug-to-lug dimension makes this a great fit on all wrist sizes. Oh, did we mention this watch is made specifically for Gnomon Watches?

Another interesting point of the Marine Grey 42 is the rather huge dial opening. That means this watch is all dial. It makes it look visually bigger than the size suggest. This also takes legibility to another level. Switching it up, Aristo features a unique change of logo, opting for a softer and simpler font, changing the entire tone for the watch.
 
To complete the vintage theme, Aristo has paired this watch with a 20mm tan calf leather strap with whip stitching. With 50m of water resistance, this watch is good for everyday wear.
