Squale 30 ATMOS Ref.1545 Steel Black

This collection preserves Squale’s history of producing quality dive watches while adding a modern touch with its upgrades in design and materials. This range features a brand new case design and new and exciting colours, coupled with popular unisex design features inspired by Squale’s heritage divers watches from the 60s.

In Squale's new Ref. 1545 collection sits the ever-popular black, but this time, it is designed with much attention paid to the finer details. Coming from Squale, a specialist dive watchmaker, you can fully expect to tick off all the essential parts of a dive watch.

The 40mm round case on the Squale 30 Atmos Ref. 1545 Steel Black hits the sweet spot for most wrist, and is made of 316L Stainless Steel with bilux finishing. We can once again see the meticulous case-work executed with quality and precision, thanks to Squale’s decades of know-how. Its screw-in case back comes with the distinctive Squale signature and keeps the watch water-resistant at 300m.

Right on top sits the bezel designed for a smooth rotation into 120 positions counter-clockwise. With its grooved ridges, it is easy to get a good grip for rotation. The steel bezel is satin-polished for a tool watch look, sweeping over its engraved, black markers, which are also coated with SuperLuminova.

Applied vintage hour markers

Ensuring high readability is its flat sapphire crystal and anti-reflection coating. At a glance, the Squale 30 Atmos Ref.1545 sober black dial is bound to catch your eye. On top of the dial Squale has added some texture to the dial.

The circular indexes are clearly defined with silver trimmings that match the colour of its stainless steel case, and the trimmings are also found on the 60s-inspired hands. Trapezoid markers sit at 6 and 9 o'clock positions, with a larger version at 12. The markers include a stroke of red paint to pay tribute to Squale's design heritage from the 60s. With SuperLuminova coating, the markers glow to a luminous green under low lighting. To the side of the 3 o'clock position is the oversized winding crown with a 60s influence. Commonly known as the "Big Crown", this screw-in crown is easy to operate and comes with an o-ring.

No nonsense steel bezel

Running inside is the Swiss workhorse - the automatic Sellita SW 200-1 Elaboré  SW200 movement. It runs at 28,800 BPH, offers 38 hours of power reserve, and has hacking and hand-winding capabilities. The satin polish on the surfaces and mirror polishing on the sides gives the watch a sense of depth. The lug-to-lug width is 47mm, while its thickness is a mere 11.5mm. The svelte dimensions make this watch suitable for all wrists.

Meanwhile, its elegant versatility takes you from the open seas to your work and play thanks to its 20mm steel sports bracelet. The Ref. 1545 distill a complete look with the multi-finished band with a signed fold buckle for security.
