It's been a while since the 20 Atmos gets some fresh novelty, until recently... Kickstarting the 2025 season strong, the new 20 Atmos dive watch has just gotten some upgrades for the highly coveted 200m diver's collection from Squale. With improved new case construction, new crown system, and new bracelet to freshen things up a little.
Let us introduce you our exclusive Squale 20 ATMOS Ciena Brown Ceramic MK 2. It starts from the new bezel insert. The ceramic bezel is first to cut into shape, and then the numbers are carefully engraved by machines made, especially for this purpose. Next, the engraved ceramic bezel is superheated to 1500 degrees to harden and purify the ceramic. The engraved numerals on the hardened bezel are then carefully filled with silver paint. The excess on the surface of the bezel is then polished to a high gloss leaving only the numerals filled permanently. Virtually indestructible and impervious to scratches, the ceramic bezel will last for years to come since this new variant exhibits classic styling, the luminous pip that matches its dial.

Compared to the previous version, the all new MK 2 has improved the bezel function, where the click feels more tactile and solid when in rotation. It a nice touch for dive watch lovers as it shows Squale precision in its case-making. The improved bezel has deep polished grooves machined into it for a good grip. It rotates smoothly into 120 positions in a counter-clockwise direction. Further refinement on its case, a new intricate mixture of satin brush on the top surfaces and mirror polishing on the sides, can be seen throughout the watch, including the 20mm bracelet.
Speaking of the sports bracelet, Squale offers a 2-piece structured end-links for the first time. Through this new design it allows the band to wrap around the wrist ergonomically and comfortably, accentuating a better overall experience. It also has a diver extension for those who want to bring it for some adventure. The 20 Atmos MK 2 comes with a flat sapphire crystal with 2.5 times magnifying cyclop. The sapphire crystal is also coated with anti-reflective on the inside for better clarity.

The 200m water resistant stainless steel case measure 40mm case without the crown has a lug-to-lug length of 47mm, and a thickness of about 13mm, with a lug width of 20mm. The short curved-down lugs mean that the watch sits nicely on all wrist sizes. The crown itself pays tribute to those vintage Squale, and its system has been improved from the previous generation with deeper grooves on the crown for a better grip. Even a more substantial screw thread is used here for a more positive screw-down action.
The new Squale 20 ATMOS Ciena Brown Ceramic MK 2 strays away from the uber black dial diver ethos and brings forth a mute coloured dial which resembles vintage brown watches. With improved new case construction, new crown system, and new material, the new 20 Atmos comes as a breath of fresh air and unique offering. The highlight of Squale is the unique dial design integrated with elements of dive watches of the 60s. A classic watch that will never go out style. Polished indices compliment the dial beautifully allowing for reflective areas for the watch to shine. Furthermore, the dial layout is fixed with Squale's "Mercedes" handset that now comes with an increased length and black outline for better visual balance. That said, all the hands and hour markers are executed in Super-LumiNova for legibility timekeeping in all conditions.
