From a heritage brand like Hamilton, modern re-interpretations of their past retro models has been the direction they are going in many recent releases, reviving them with Swiss watchmaking capabilities of the 21st century. In 2017, Hamilton unveiled the limited edition American Classic Intra-Matic Chrono 68 based on the Hamilton Chronograph B from 1968, a gorgeous release well-received by vintage watch enthusiasts. This time round, the Intra-Matic Chronograph H recaptures the golden age of sports chronographs, bringing back the unparalleled haptic pleasure of a hand-wound timepiece.
The Hamilton American Classic Intra-Matic Chronograph H Black Ref. H38429130 receives a reworked 2-piece 316L stainless steel construction with the bezel integrated into the mid-case, offering a more seamless appearance compared to the former 3-piece construction in previous iterations. While the overall thickness remains relatively unchanged at approximately 14.3mm, this new case construction resulted in a notably slimmer case profile, with the boxed sapphire crystal contributing to the overall height. Nonetheless, the watch sits extremely comfortable on the wrist with a versatile diameter of 40mm and a lug to lug distance of 49mm.

Distinct oversized pushers and a grippy crown at the right side of the case are the hallmarks of the Intra-Matic Chronograph H, allowing for a ton of retro character with a satisfying operation when using the chronograph and winding up the movement. To complete the vintage look, the supplied stainless steel 20mm Milanese mesh bracelet beautifully expresses a sophisticated elegance associated with timepieces from the 70s period, a seemingly perfect style of bracelet to pair with a vintage-inspired chronograph. Secured on the wrist with a polished Hamilton-signed push-button clasp, a mesh bracelet brings a raffish charm that easily compliments a whole range of style from sporty to classy.
