Alpina Seastrong Diver 300 Black: A Legit Diving Buddy
Looking back on the long journey of the watchmaking industry, Alpina is one brand that sets its beginning as far back as 1883. That makes the brand part of the horological innovation to create an excellent collection for the watch community. Alpina’s collections are set into 4 pillars – Alpiner, Startimer, Seastrong, and Smartwatches. Yet in this article, I’m going to talk more about the Alpina divers watch, which is the Seastrong.
Seastrong collection offers a list of upgraded features ever since its launch. The watches are designed to meet the needs of water sports lovers with reliable performance and stylish appearance. Throughout its long journey, there is more to explore in this collection, especially for Alpina’s new edition, the Seastrong Diver 300 which faithfully preserves the value of its predecessor.
What to Expect in Alpina Seastrong Diver 300
Alpina divers watch, the Seastrong Diver 300, pays tribute to the last century’s Alpina collection. It was the 1960s Seastrong “10” which was already equipped with impressive performance for underwater exploration, such as 200m of water resistance.
As for the new edition, this Alpina diver watch stays faithful to the core value of the Seastrong collection with delicate design and improved performance. The obvious feature that can be seen is definitely the 300m of water resistance for greater reliability. The vintage edition was equipped with 200m of water resistance which at that period was already considered a good number.
Another novelty spotted in the watch is the elimination of the date window in some editions for a crispier dial layout. Nevertheless, you can always rely on the recent Alpina diver watch, the Seastrong Diver 300, as it elevates every element one level ahead yet still carries the vintage vibe for reminiscing the past moment of glory.
Overall, the exterior of the Seastrong Diver 300 looks similar to its vintage edition. But, it keeps some advanced features to provide a better experience of wearing a timepiece from the inside. As such, let’s take a closer look into one of the Alpina diver watches, the Seastrong Diver 300, to see how worthy the watch is.
The Alpina Seastrong Diver 300 Black Bracelet Review
While there are varieties of the Seastrong Diver 300 itself, I decided to delve into the black one with a stainless steel bracelet. Its chic and bold appearance is something I love the most in a timepiece. So, let’s look at every part of the Seastrong Diver 300 Black Bracelet.
Watch Case
Let’s get started from the outer surface which is the case of the watch. It preserves the vintage design with an oversized case measured at 44m in diameter and 13mm in thickness. This stainless steel case has been polished with a satin-brushed finishing that gives a gleaming look to the whole surface of the case.
A simple flip to the case would lead you to a splendid view through the open caseback. From this, you can see how the intricate parts of the movements work in harmony to drive the watch functions. Overall, the oversized case somehow gives a sense of bulky yet tough to the watch that allows it to appear stylish once strapped on the wrist.
Watch Crown
Protruding on the right side of the case is the watch crown which definitely plays a vital function, especially for a dive watch. Similar to most dive watch collections, it has a screw-down crown to prevent water from entering the case and damaging the internal parts.
In addition to that, the crown has an Alpina sign, a red triangle logo, to give a sense of exclusivity to the Alpina watch brands. As for this Alpina diver watch, it only has one crown while the vintage and other editions have two crowns – one for setting and winding the movement and the other for operating the bezel.
Yet, this large crown managed to bring a better experience for the wearer. It operates smoothly and its big size allows for a good grip for underwater activities.

Dial
Now we’re on a part where appearance is everything about it, the watch dial. It has a black dial background, a neutral and personally I’ll say a universal color to make a good contrast with other elements.
The hour markers feature oblong markers which stand proudly on the surface. In addition to that, the lume is definitely a must on the hour markers and the tip of watch hands for perfect legibility.
Talking about the appearance itself, the dial offers a simple and classic yet stylish look. It’s a clean and crisp view with markers and hands making a good contrast with the background. Right at the 3 o’clock position, you’ll find a date window. The dial also has texts, the name of the Alpina brand at the top and information of “Automatic” and “300M 1000FT” at the bottom.
Bezel
Moving on to the bezel, an essential tool for diving activities, this Alpina diver watch has a 120-click unidirectional bezel. If Alpina needs to highlight its high level of craftsmanship then the bezel is one apparent part of it where the brand took care of every detail meticulously.
The watch bezel has been well-polished along with its white marker and dark matte gray aluminum insert for good legibility against the black dial. Placed at the outer ring, it can measure for up to 60 minutes. Not to mention that the marker has been applied with Superluminova for perfect legibility in a dark environment.

Movement
At the heart of this Alpina diver watch is the reliable Alpina Automatic Caliber AL-525 with Alpina’s custom rotor. While many of Alpina’s watches are driven by their in-house movements, the Seastrong Diver 300 Black Bracelet is an exception. Instead, the Caliber AL-525 is a modified Sellita SW-200.
It is equipped with 26 jewels with Incabloc shock protection and sweeps smoothly in 28.800 bph. With this movement, the watch can last for up to 38 hours. You can enjoy this craftsmanship through its open caseback in which AL-525’s Geneva stripes work in such a delicate way.
Bracelet
Appear in a combination of gray and black color, a stainless steel bracelet is a perfect pair for the watch. The watch is paired with an H-link bracelet measured at 20mm push-button equipped with a butterfly deployant clasp. It is further dressing up the watch thanks to the well-polished center links as the finishing. That way it seamlessly looks all good for elevating your style.
Final Thought
As indeed, Alpina can be one of the trusted brands to produce an impressive collection of tool watches, such as this Alpina diver watch, the Seastrong Diver 300 Black Bracelet. It offers a complete package for divers to enjoy underwater activities at ease and safely.
Solid construction from premium materials, reliable movement to ensure accuracy, and high water resistance for up to 300m, allow this Alpina diver watch an ideal candidate to accompany your next diving adventure. Not to mention the affordability of the watch for the features it offers. You can grab this special timepiece at $1,079 USD.
