The ORGANIC TIME  is the debut watch from Dietrich 1969. The Organic Time is the translation of my singular world. It is the expression of my desire for balance, a balance between feelings, forms, sensations and pleasure. It is the culmination of my design signature: delicate but bold, powerful yet sensual. The Organic Time is more than a desirable object; it is a tool that speaks the same organic language as our bodies. This is the philosophy that generates the Organic Time, an organically different timepiece.

It has been a while since we got so excited over a watch that is under $5000. Through fluid lines and organic shapes, Dietrich created a collection called, Organic Time. They are OT-1, OT-2 and OT-3.

Organic Time 1 (OT-2) has a case, frame and bezel made from 316L; stainless steel case frame and bezel all in black PVD and all these fixed together by four black hex screws. The multiple case construction gives the whole watch a dynamic that is seen only in watches that cost 20 times more. With multiple case finishing consist of micro-beads blast, satin and polished, it allows the wearer to admire the form and lines of this truly unique case. With a brushed emblem at 9 o'clock and a crown at 3 o'clock with polished Dietrich "69" logo yet again creates another dimension.

The watch measures 46 in width and 48mm in length but wears very comfortably as the no-lugs-design lower case wraps around  your wrist for a perfect on all wrist sizes. Not sure what you call them but the lower case has 2 "U-legs" lugs, where a single-piece strap slides through. An unusual construction for sure, but one that is both functional and enticing. This unique design allows easy change of strap.

Another remarkable detail is the angled and slightly domed sapphire crystal that has an anti-reflective coating only on its underside. The sapphire crystal is also a part of the dial, with the minute markers printed on its underside. And they are applied with luminous so they glow in the dark!

Now the dial is something that you can look at for hours at end and keep picking out details. You’re treated to a highly detailed four-part dial; first and third layers sun brushed black, second and fourth layers vertical brushed black. At the highest point you have the impossible-to-miss vibrant green hour and minute hands which draw its inspiration from mother nature. with generous amount of SuperLuminova and fluorescent color, the hands are incredibly easy to read at a glance.

Under the hands you’ll notice the rounded “X” structure, which gives the illusion of continuing through to the screws on the bezel. The “X” fills the dial up nicely and helps to visually balance the different indications. Underneath that, the sides of the dial as well as the raised Dietrich 1969 and OT-2 plaques at 12 and 6 o'clock respectively are done in vertically brushed anthracite, catching and reflecting light as you move your wrist.

The OT-2 offers other animations on the dial to captivate the wearer. The seconds disk at 4 o’clock stands out with its 6-prong star shape done in brushed yellow gold.  At 10 o ‘clock there is a 24-hour indicator, paired with a luminous back for easier reading. At 7 o’clock you have an opening revealing the movement’s escapement ticking away as if giving life to the whole watch.

All ready to be strapped to your wrist on a double layered nylon strap that slips under the watch for a perfect comfortable wear.
